Ship with ten Indians hijacked off Somalia coast

The ship, 'MV Victoria', sailed from Mumbai earlier this month with cargo and went missing about 55 nautical miles off the Somalian coast.

The Directorate General of Shipping on Monday said a vessel has been hijacked off the Somalian coast on Saturday that has at least 10 Indians onboard.

"We are working for more details. Shipowners are supposed to inform, but they have not. We are trying to get more information," a top DG Shipping official said.

According to reports reaching here, the ship, 'MV Victoria', sailed from Mumbai earlier this month with cargo and went missing about 55 nautical miles off the Somalian coast.

It was believed to be carrying sugar between Mumbai and Mogadishu.
