Party leader Sanjay Raut said Bihar chief minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar had emerged as “a political hero” after leading his alliance to a victory, stressing it was time for Modi to accept responsibility.
“This is a big win for Nitish Kumar. He has emerged as a political hero,” Raut told the media.
“When Congress loses, then it’s (president) Sonia’s (Gandhi) responsibility. Similarly, BJP must accept that Bihar results is Modi’s responsibility,” Raut said.
He added: “We congratulate Nitish Kumar. This result will be a turning point in the country’s political future.”
Shiv Sena is BJP’s alliance partner in the Devendra Fadnavis-led government in Maharashtra.
Needling the ally, the Sena also said the Bihar elections outcome “denotes decline of a leader”. Raut asserted that if elections were to be held in Maharashtra now, similar results would emerge.
