Speedster Shoaib Akhtar flopped with the ball as Wapda thrashed Khan Research Laboratory (KRL) by 146 runs in the Patron's Cup one-day cricket tournament semi-final.

Shoaib, playing only his second match of the competition, conceded 56 runs from 10 overs as Wapda posted a collosal 358 for six from 50 overs, thanks to an unbeaten 122 by Aamir Sajjad and 109 by Adil Nisar.

The two added 181 runs for the third wicket.

In turn, KRL were dismissed for 212 runs in 42.3 overs with Shoaib hitting two fours and a six in his 19.

The second semi-final will be played on Thursday between PIA and Customs.
