Shopkeeper gets 3 months for selling adulterated substance

Nadaun additional civil judge Hitendra Sharma on Friday held a shopkeeper of Bhumpal village of Hamirpur distrct guilty of selling adulterated chutki (sweet for the children) and awarded him a simple imprisonment of three months and a fine of Rs 1,000.

According to prosecution, during the collection of the sample of the chutki, the shopkeeper failed to produce the bill of the trader from where he had procured it. Moreover, the substsance was found to be unfit for the human consumption, especially for the children.
