BUDDING SINGER Niti Kothari presented a CD of Gayatri Mantra and Sanskrit Bhaktamar Strota sung by her to noted music composer Ravindra Jain recently. Niti has registered her name in Limca Book of Records for singing the song at the tender age of two-and-a-half-years and for recording the ‘Strota’ at the age of three years. Niti has also learnt more than 35 shlokas. On the occasion Ravindra Jain appreciated Niti’s knowledge about Indian religion at such a young age.

Joshi appointed

VAIDYA LOKESH Joshi has been appointed national joint secretary of Nikhil Bharatvashiya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth by Akhil Bharatiya Ayurveda Mahasammelan national president Vaidya Devendra Triguna recently. Indore District Ayurveda Sammelan president Vaidya R K Vajpayee said that Lokesh Joshi was the only person from the State to be appointed as member of the executive committee. Many City Vaidyas including Vishnuprakash, Nitin Shukla, Vijay Shankar Trivedi, Rajendra Sharma and others have congratulated Lokesh Joshi on his appointment.

Plays staged

TWO PLAYS - ‘Mithi’ and ‘Deh Prapanchacha Das’ - were staged at the late Chandu Parkhi memorial drama competition organised under the Sharadotsava by Maharashtra Sahitya Sabha on Saturday. Natyavilas staged the play ‘Mithi’ in the first session of the programme, while artists Tina Khadilikar, Sudhir Khadilikar of Navi Chalchitra Sanstha staged the play ‘Deh Prapanchacha Das’ in the second session of the programme. Pallavi Kulkarni coordinated the programme.
