Sikh meet to discuss Dera issue

Lucknow Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (LGPC) on Friday said it would hold a meeting of all Sikh leaders in Lucknow to discuss Dera Sacha Sauda issue and demanded an inquiry into allegations that illegal activities being carried out inside Deras.
"We will hold a meeting of all Sikh leaders at LGPC headquarters here and discuss the issue after which we will hand over a memorandum to President through district magistrate demanding speeding up CBI probe against alleged rape and murder inside Deras," LGPC president Rajendra Singh Bagga told reporters in Lucknow.
He said that the sentiments of the community was hurt with Dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's alleged insult to tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh.
Bagga alleged that Dera chief did all this to divert attention of CBI, which is probing a number of alleged cases against the Dera.
"He (Dera chief) wanted to show his strength to CBI and tried to give message that any action against him would result in blood shed in Punjab. We will not tolerate it and want speeding up of CBI probe against the Dera," he said.
"No one had problem if the Dera people were involved in social service and religious activities but alleged illegal activities inside Dera should be proble thoroughly," Bagga demanded.
