With encephalitis claiming six more lives, the death toll due to the disease in eastern Uttar Pradesh has mounted to 322 this year.
Six persons died due to the disease on Tuesday, health officials said on Wednesday.
Additional director (Health) Diwakar Prasad said 44 people suffering from encephalitis have been admitted to BRD MCH and other government hospitals.
He said 354 people suffering from the disease are undergoing treatment in various government hospitals including BRD-MCH.
