Green ground of the college was full to its capacity with eager onlookers, especially parents who were impatient to watch their child's performance. The sporting spirit of the participants was boosted by the presence of Jitendra Nath Singh, Mayor of Allahabad, as the guest of honour to the event. The opening ceremony was studded with various events. All the school captains stood with their respective flags at the centre of the field presenting a colourful sight. The most fabulous event to watch was the display of fire-crackers. It started with the lighting of the mighty torch.
March past by the students of the four houses presented another strikingly colourful view. Disciplined groups wearing the T-shirts in red, yellow, blue and green walked in unison with their captains leading them. It was a tough job as they were being marked for their performance.
The ex-Josephites too contributed their part to the show during the march past. The proud group waved to the audience registering their pride in being a Josephite. Most of them belonged to the '74 batch.
Mayor Jitendra Nath Singh distributed prizes to the winners of the wheel barrow race which was competed by the Prep class students.
Other races in which the junior class students participated were Togetherness (Prep class), Always aim high (class I), Tell the time (class I), Balancing the Balloon (class II), Laughter challenge (class II), Let's collect fruits (class III) and Piggy back (class III).
Hundred metres and two hundred metres sprints saw some keen competition among the participants. Loud cheers of the audience bucked them up to outdo each other.
Immaculate performances of PT display entertained the people. It was based on the themes of 'A fun time fare', 'Green India clean India' 'Nature's abundance', and 'Ha ho rumble'. A mass Pt display was also held.
There were 400 metres inter-house relay races and fast cycle races of 2200 metres, 1800 metres, 1400 metres and 1000 metres. Tug-o-war added spice to the event.
The much awaited 100 metre race of ex-Josephites in the categories of above 40 years and below 40 years drew attention. Martial arts and gymanstics was held during the concluding function.
Curtains came down on the colourful sports event with the prize distribution, beating the retreat and national anthem.
