Talking to the journalists here today, SMCA secretary Syed Shakeel Mohammad said the camp would be held with an objective of providing all basic information about the game to the budding cricketers. “SMCA has become a nursery for talented players,” said Shakeel. The academy had produced many cricketers in five years something that was never done by any institution in the past, he claimed.

To buttress his claim, he said, Danish Rain, Aman Khan, Ayaan Khan, Usman Ali, Mohsin Ali, Arif Mohammad, Sonu Batham, Farhan Ali, Salman Baig, Zain Ansari, Sushank Sharma, Parvezullah, Suboor Baig, Shahab Khan, Muqtadirullah, Satish, Zubair and Mujeeb, were among the players benefited from the coaching of academy.

Asked if the players coming out the academy would have bright future, he said players from small cities making it big at the national-level proved the importance of good coaching. “Most of the players selected in the national team were from cities like Ranchi and other small places. They were able to make it big because of the good coaching,” he opined.
