Snowfall in Keylong, mercury rises in Shimla

Higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh continued to reel under cold conditions as snowfall lashed Keylong, the district headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti.

Higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh continued to reel under cold conditions as snowfall lashed Keylong, the district headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti.

Keylong, known as "cold desert", recorded 3 cm snowfall since last night and lowest temperature here dropped to minus 9.2 degrees Celsius.

Kalp, the district headquarters of Kinnaur, witnessed minus 3.0 degrees temperature. While higher reaches continued to reel under intense cold, capital Shimla saw a rise in temperature from 7.2 degrees yesterday to 8 degrees on Wednesday.

Lowest temperature in Manali plummeted to 0.4 degree from 5 degrees yesterday.

The Met office forecast light to moderate rain/snowfall at few places in the state in the next 24 hours.
