Sonia asks J&K separatists to rejoin democratic process

Asking separatists in Jammu and Kashmir to learn lessons from the recently held elections in the state, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi said they should rejoin the democratic process.

Asking separatists in Jammu and Kashmir to learn lessons from the recently held elections in the state, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Saturday said they should rejoin the democratic process.

"People will shun violence and disruption and opt for democracy and development as proved by the well participated elections in the state recently," she said inaugurating the maiden international flight from Srinagar airport to Dubai and rail service from Budgam to Baramulla.

Kashmiris had voted in large numbers during the recently held assembly elections in the state, giving a blow to the separatists who had called for boycotting the polls.
