Joining Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani's Bharat Uday Yatra for the first time, Union Minister and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Thursday launched a blistering attack on Congress president Sonia Gandhi where she questioned her qualifications to become the country's Prime Minister.

"I don't accept anyone as Prime Minister for whom Tulsi is mere basil, Ganga is Ganges and Gobar is only cow dung. We consider Tulsi, cow and Ganga as mothers," Sushma told an election rally here.

"What is the basis for Sonia's claim to Prime Ministership except that she is the wife of late Rajiv Gandhi. She was not born here, she was not even brought up here," the BJP leader said.

"India is my motherland but for her (Sonia) it is just another country. She has failed to understand our culture," Sushma said.

"Our brothers sacrificed their lives to defend the nation. But will any of her brothers come here to save the country.

"Mare hum or raj kare koi aur (We die and other people rule). This is unacceptable," Sushma said.

"Thankfully ours is a democracy where government is formed by the people's will. But there is a family that strive to change democracy into fiefdom," she said.

Contrasting Sonia's roadshow with Advani's yatra, Sushma described it as 'tamasha (farce)'.

She said the roadshow was a commercial concept undertaken by business companies while Yatra was used to spread message to people. "Yatras are undertaken by sufis, saints and fakirs," she said.
