In their first appearance on a public platform, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and DMK chief M Karunanidhi would be addressing a joint rally in Chennai on May 7 in support of the Democratic Progressive Alliance in Tamil Nadu.
"Gandhi would be addressing a joint rally with DMK Chief Karunanidhi in Chennai on May 7 and her programmes are being finalised for it," party sources said here on Wednesday.
Gandhi's programme in Chennai led to rescheduling of her election campaign in Delhi and the Congress chief now would be addressing a rally at the historic Ram Lila Ground here in support of its seven candidates on May 8 instead of May 7 announced earlier.
May 8 is the last day for campaigning in Delhi going to polls in the fourth and last phase of elections on May 10.
Under an agreement reached with DMK-led Front, Congress is contesting 10 Lok Sabha seats of the total 39 in Tamil Nadu going for polls on May 10.
Gandhi had first telephoned DMK chief wishing him on new year's day as also congratulating him on his decision to part ways with BJP-led NDA alliance.
