Controversy could well be Aishwarya Rai’s middle name. After the buzz over the mystery parcel, priests of the Brahma temple in Pushkar on Thursday alleged that one of the three security guards who accompanied her inside was drunk.
Teerath Prohit Sangh chairman Ladoo Ram alleged the guard entered the temple in a drunken state, which hurt the sentiments of devotees.
“We are contemplating action against the star as she is responsible for her guards,” he said, adding: “We will meet (on Thursday night or Friday) and take a decision on whether to lodge a complaint with the police or petition the district collector.”
Chief priest Som Puri said he had been told about the incident but added: “Aishwarya and her mother came inside the garbha griha. One of the guards was just outside the garbha door. He was too far away for me to smell any liquor on his breath.”
Rai, however, said there was no truth to the allegation. ASP Virbhan Ajwani said: “So far, we have not got any complaint.” As Rai was leaving, her securitymen also got into a small scuffle with journalists. Earlier, she paid obeisance at the Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti dargah in Ajmer largely unnoticed.
