The South African cricket team is set to tour Pakistan after the latter's cricket board canceled two matches to be held in Karachi and Peshawar due to security reasons.
The South African Board has agreed to send its cricket team on a tour to Pakistan and the team will be arriving on Thursday, The News reported on Tuesday quoting a report in Geo Television.
The South African Cricket Board (SACB) had a few days ago canceled the tour after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) refused to change the two venues. Despite several requests the PCB maintained that there would be no security threat to the touring team at these venues.
According to the new schedule, the South Africans will be playing two Tests and three One Day Internationals.
Confirming the news, PCB officials said the SACB had given the green signal in this regard while the written approval is awaited. The Board will get it in writing in a day or two.
Earlier, the PCB had asked the SACB to send its final decision latest by Monday and it was informed that the SACB will be meeting on Monday to decide the fate of the tour.
The SACB also informed that a final meeting to get the approval of the cricket players will be held on Tuesday so as to reach a decision in this regard.
