Joshi accused the Samajwadi Party government of taking the credit for policies launched by the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre like Rozgar Guarantee Yojna and Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme. She announced that Congressmen in the State would go to the masses and expose the SP government.
Joshi said this while talking to presspersons today at the District Congress Committee (DCC) office. She was here to review the restructuring process of the district body. AICC secretary Satish Ajmani, Shiv Bhagwan, DCC president Kamal Ahmad Rizvi and DCC secretary Iqbal Ahmad accompanied her.
Joshi said the Congress in UP had lost its strength owing to the rise of communal and casteist forces here since 1990. Legislators themselves indulged in criminal activities and parties were shielding them. This had left an adverse impact upon the Congress, which believed in the politics of principles, she added.
Joshi said after Salman Khurshid took charge of the Congress in UP, steps to strengthen the party at the grass root levels had been stepped up. She disclosed that the State had been divided in eight divisions.
