Special children a social responsibility

JUSTICE AK Yog of Allahabad High Court said here on Saturday that it was the responsibility of the society to care for and help mentally challenged children. Speaking at a workshop organised by Mamta, a government school for mentally retarded children in Ashok Nagar locality for generating awareness among parents and guardians of mentally challenged children with regard to their legal rights, Justice Yog emphasised rehabilitation programmes for such children and also discussed various laws that had been enforced for them.

Speaking at a workshop organised by Mamta, a government school for mentally retarded children in Ashok Nagar locality for generating awareness among parents and guardians of mentally challenged children with regard to their legal rights, Justice Yog emphasised rehabilitation programmes for such children and also discussed various laws that had been enforced for them.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Allahabad division, Dr Lalit Verma stressed on providing legal rights to these children. Later, Dr Verma lauded the efforts of the government school for taking measures for the welfare of these children.

On the occasion, objects of art and craft made by the children of the school were exhibited.

Project director of DRDA NS Mishra, Dr Kamlesh Tiwari, HS Ojha and Kamlesh Pandey from Bureau of Psychology, SC Pant from UP Parents Association for Mentally Retarded Children, advocate Piyush Mishra, Ashok Singh and Rekha Tripathi were among those who were present on the occasion.
