SpiceJet says to buy 10 new planes from Boeing

Domestic budget airline SpiceJet Ltd says it will buy ten 737-800 airplanes from Boeing.

Domestic budget airline SpiceJet Ltd on Tuesday said it will buy ten 737-800 airplanes from Boeing.

"These deliveries will be be from 2011 onwards. These would be in addition to 30 aircraft orders placed so far," Siddhanta Sharma, executive chairman, said at a press conference.

SpiceJet is yet to formalise funding options for these ten planes, Sharma added.
