SPORTS ROUND-UP | Emerald Heights students win CBSE basketball trophy

EMERALD HEIGHTS International School girls once again excelled in the National CBSE basketball tournament held in Thiruvananthapuram recently. This is the 10th time the students of Emerald Heights have bagged the coveted trophy.

EMERALD HEIGHTS International School girls once again excelled in the National CBSE basketball tournament held in Thiruvananthapuram recently. This is the 10th time the students of Emerald Heights have bagged the coveted trophy.

Emerald Heights girls beat Bhavan’s School (Kochi) by 58-37 in the final to win the title. School principal Sunita Singh, director Muktesh Singh and other staff members have congratulated the students for their brilliant performance.

Cricket tournament

CENTRAL INDIA Regional Council for Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Indore Branch will organise a cricket tournament. Teams from Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow and Udaipur branches of ICAL are taking part in the tournament.

The tournament will begin tomorrow at Daly College ground. Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Indore Ajit Kumar will inaugurate the tournament, while former test player Narendra Hirwani will preside over the function.

Inter-school table tennis

THE X Siddharth Soni memorial interschool table tennis tournament organised by Guru Harkrishana Public School under the aegis of Indore District Table Tennis Association would be held from January 10 at Nehru Stadium.

Taekwondo competition

THE 13TH Indore District Taekwondo competition organised by District Taekwondo Association would begin from January 12 at Nehru Stadium. Interested players to take part in the competition may contact Anil Jhariyia and Vatsala Yadav.

Gymkhana Trophy Carrom

MANOJ AND Javed have sailed into the last four in the 24 Central Gymkhana Trophy Carrom Championship. In the first quarterfinal, Manoj beat Akram by 10-25, 25-5 and 25-13. In the second quarterfinal Javed shocked Jitu Billore by 23-24, 25-24 and 25-18 to sail into the last four.
