So, what's the trend in make-up and hair this season? "It is stark and bold. I loved Clint's make-up for designer Nandita Basu. And Jojo's hairstyles for Rina Dhaka! In fact, long hair with bounce is super for the Indian woman. Long hair is in. All one needs is texture and open curls, something that's easy to achieve."

What would one imagine as make-up under the executioner masks at Rajesh Pratap's show? "Pale faces with probably a hint of lip gloss. Certain clothes require less makeup," he says.

His favourite fashion product this summer? "Undoubtedly the Lakme Lip Gloss, in the neat tube pack. They're delici-ous, in black currant, strawberry and green apple flavours, and their bubblegum texture is yummy. It renders the best finishing touch over normal lip colour."

And what would he choose for fashion make-up for LIFW collections? "If it is Indian wear, I’d use lots of kajal. I love kajal in the eyes with extended use of eyeliner. No circus make-up please, for Indian clothes. We need to incorporate beauty in fashion! For lips, keep them soft and feminine in peach and flesh tones," says Bhalla.

As for western or fusion clothes, his recipe is simple: "Go for the same look, just replace kajal with lots of mascara. First create a pool of pale shimmer around the eyes and then go full steam with the mascara. Summery lip colours work best for western clothes." That's the perfect feminine recipe for make-up and hair on and off the ramp this summer.
