In this eight-day workshop, the theme will be based on 'Human values in colours'. There will be eight artists from other cities while thirteen local artists will also be attending the workshop.
"The event will also be marked with regular seminars, poets conference and discussions on art subjects", said BN Tiwari, incharge Manav Vikas Sangrahalay. "Our main aim is to relate art with society so that it actually finds a deeper meaning", said Prof RC Tripathi, director of the institute.
"We are also planning to take the participants to the village stations set up by the institute so that we could also seek the participation of rural artists.
However this plan has still not taken shape so far, but the step will certainly bring out the hidden talents. Besides imparting them with our know-how, the participants are likely to learn something new from their traditional rural art form", said Prof Tripathi.
The artists belonging to other cities will also be taken on a tour of the city in order to acquaint them with its cultural heritage.
"The motive behind inviting the artists to our institute is to give them an inner feel of the social issues which are often dealt here so that they gain inspiration and paint accordingly", he added.
The paintings made by the participants will be used in the galleries of the Manav Vikas Sangrahalay of the institute.
