CONFEDERATION OF Indian Industry (CII) organised an interactive meet with Members of Parliament from Madhya Pradesh at New Delhi on August 22.
The objective of the meet was to discuss and deliberate on the state of the economy and highlight issues and problems concerning industry in the State and workout strategies to remove bottlenecks.
Discussions during the interaction focused on the status of various industry-related issues in Madhya Pradesh. In his welcome address, CII Western Region Chairman Farhad Forbes outlined the concept and activities of CII keeping in view different stakeholders.
He also emphasised the need to further strengthening dialogue of this nature for partnership between the Government and CII.
CII Madhya Pradesh Chairman Sunil Chordia made a presentation of various factors, which could help accelerating the process of industrialisation in Madhya Pradesh.
While the status of many schemes already in progress was discussed; the suggestion of constituting a Joint Task Force to suggest a roadmap and monitor effectiveness of measures undertaken was welcomed.
MPs from the State were of the opinion that while the growth of already developed industrial belts of the State should continue, efforts must be made to develop other industrially underdeveloped areas of the State as well.
The CII was asked to prepare a detailed action plan for such areas. It was also suggested that frequency of such interactions be increased to make the process of partnership more strong.
MPs present in the meet included Kailash Joshi, Sartaj Singh, V K Khandelwal, Dr Ram Lakhan Singh, Anusuiya Uikey, Ashok Argal, Neeta Pateriya, Rakesh Singh and Chhatar Singh Darbar.
