Sticking to the plan best way to move ahead

When we were choosing the playing eleven for Saturday's game against Punjab, we could not decide whom to pick and whom to leave. It was tough, but I guess, a captain can have worse problems than this! All the players are in good form and have made some crucial contributions, so it was quite tough for the team management.
Finally, I think we did well, and our decision to play Rajat Bhatia paid dividends as we got back to winning ways at the Eden Gardens. We also decided to move Eoin Morgan up the order for the game because we felt that he was not getting enough balls. Eoin is a quality player and his cameo at the top helped us get ahead of the run-rate in our chase of 120.
STICKING TO PLAN
It was a commendable all-round performance and what really impressed me, was the way we stuck to our plan. We were able to keep the in-form Paul Valthaty and the redoubtable Adam Gilchrist in check. Of course, luck plays a big role in T20, but we ensured that we did not give them too many scoring opportunities.
Two back-to-back wins are a shot in the arm for us and we need to build on that in Hyderabad and Kochi. First up is Hyderabad, where the Deccan Chargers would come hard at us after their loss to Chennai.
Kumar Sangakkara has a dangerous side and there are some key players in there. Ishant Sharma showed that he was in good rhythm and we need to play at our best against him and Dale Steyn. However, we’ve been in good form over the last two games and are confident going into this game. There have been some changes in the team as we lost Brad Haddin to injury and have now got Mark Boucher. Mark is one of the most experienced cricketers on the circuit.
REAL RACE BEGINS
Shakib al Hasan has rushed home after receiving the news that his mother is not well. The update is that it is not too serious. Shakib is a key member and it would be great if we have his presence in the dressing room as soon as possible.
From here on, each game will have a hint of desperation as the league is entering its second half. We need to stick to our plans, and if we do that, I am confident we will continue with our winning streak. Gameplan
