"We acted as decoy customers and finalised a deal with Raju Sekia in Bhilai town on Friday night to purchase seven monkeys," police Superintendent Dipanshu Kabra said.
He said police finalised the deal at Rs.500,000 per monkey.
"Eight monkeys were stolen from the zoo on Aug 8. But only seven could be recovered from Sekia as one had died during the 900-km travel from Kolkata to Raipur," Kabra said.
