On his third day as Delhi's chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal on Monday wrote on Twitter he will not be able to attend office on a day the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is likely to take few important decisions.
"It was so imp to attend office today. We had planned the water announcement. God, bahut galat time par bimaar kiya," Kejriwal posted.
His followers were quick to react and had tons of advice for the AAP leader as well.
While a few asked him to take care and drink boiled or bottled water, some wrote that excuses won't work and even enquired whether it was a sick leave or he was working from home.
Upma23 compared Kejriwal to children who give excuses for not attending classes or for not doing their homework.
Purba Ray took a dig on his promise of providing water and wrote, "With free water comes an upset stomach.Must be a DJB conspiracy @ArvindKejriwal: Running 102 fever since yesterday. Severe loose motions."
Kejriwal had said that he would come up with some measures on free water on Monday, which AAP had promised within 24 hours of coming to power, hours after he took the oath of office on Saturday.
Some even tweeted about the "frank" detail Kejriwal provided about his illness.
The doctor who is treating Kejriwal said that he has been administered antibiotics to contain his diarrhoea and advised complete rest.
"He will rest for the day. As the day progresses we will see. He was very keen on going to the secretariat because he has very important announcements to make. I strictly advised him against going out," said Dr Bipin Mittal.
