The economic Survey for 2004-05 has pointed out the need for developing a strong bond market and an efficient initial public offer market on the lines of the secondary market, which is one of the most efficient and largest in the world.
Given the fact that large public debt is being issued every year and India has sophisticated exchange institutions, India has an ideal environment for a liquid bond market, the survey observed.
