In a joint statement released on Wednesday, Srihari Bharatthi, president, students' council, IIM Bangalore, and the representatives of the other five IIMs said the system of evaluating merit should not be tampered with or bypassed.
Calling for empowerment at the lowest level instead, they said increasing quota would help no one in higher education.
They said the support of B-school students to the stir against reservation was delayed because most representatives of management institutes were busy with their internships. They will now assemble in their respective institutes in the first week of June to work out a plan of action.
