Sumit Bhuttan’s bail plea rejected again

The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday dismissed the bail plea of Sumit Bhuttan, accused of killing his wife Ruchi Bhuttan in July last year. His bail plea was rejected by Justice Vijender Singh Malik.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday dismissed the bail plea of Sumit Bhuttan, accused of killing his wife Ruchi Bhuttan in July last year. His bail plea was rejected by Justice Vijender Singh Malik.

Bhuttan is alleged to have an affair with model and actor Meera Chopra.

The local court in Gurgaon had also denied him bail in October last year.

The accused faces charges under Sections 304(b) (dowry death), 302 (murder), 120 (b) (criminal conspiracy) and 201 (destruction of evidence), IPC.

Ruchi was found hanging from a fan at her DLF Phase-2 residence last year.

The couple had a love marriage in 2005. Sumit ran a franchise of the prominent brokerage firm, Angel Brokerage Private Ltd, in Bhikaji Cama Place in New Delhi. Ruchi was employed with the same firm. Sumit is presently lodged in a Gurgaon jail.
