Sunny Rawat was arrested by the police shortly before an encounter with Sachin Pahari in Kaiserbagh area of Lucknow on Wednesday.
In a new twist to the Meher Bhargava murder case, Sunny Rawat the man identified on Wednesday as having fired the fatal shot on Thursday confessed to the killing.
"Yes, I fired the shot... She (Meher) called us dogs and threatened to use her connections to make life miserable for us. She said she would have the police lathicharge us," Rawat said.
Rawat was arrested by the police shortly before an encounter with Sachin Pahari in Kaiserbagh area of the city on Wednesday.
Rawat who was arrested along with another youth, Sanjay Menon was presented at a news conference by the police.
The two were taken for identification to the Bhargava family house where Luv Bhargava's driver, Ganga Prasad, identified Rawat as having shot Meher on February 28.
Rawat, who was hooded for protection of identity, said Pahari and others had been given Rs 75,000 in another killing.
