The Delhi high court on Friday refused to extend the juvenile convict’s sentence, evoking sharp reactions from the victim’s parents, who said “crime has won and we have lost”.

The final call on the release of the man, now aged 20, will be taken by a panel of the Juvenile Justice Board after assessing if he has been “socially main-streamed”.
