Swine flu claims three more lives, death toll rises to 76

With two women and a one-year-old baby girl succumbing to swine flu, the death toll in Karnataka due to the virus has reached 76, health officials said.

With two women and a one-year-old baby girl succumbing to swine flu, the death toll in Karnataka due to the virus has reached 76, health officials said on Monday.

The infant passed away at a private hospital in Gulbarga on September 17, while a 35-year-old and a 22 year-old women passed away at a government hospital in the city last week, they said.

Twelve more persons were tested positive for the H1N1 virus, including 11 from Bangalore and one from Bijapur, as per the latest report.

The total number of confirmed swine flu cases in the state has gone up to 899, they said.
