Sources said Talwar was quizzed rigorously at Surajpur since Tuesday night. Inspector General Gurdarshan Singh, Deputy Inspector General PC Mina and Senior Superintendent of Police A Satish Ganesh were present during the interrogation.

The police have Talwar only till Friday evening and they are desperate to gather evidence and clues to connect the loose ends of their claims that Talwar killed his daughter Aarushi and domestic help in a fit of rage on May 16. Besides recovering the weapon of crime, police wants to know whether Talwar was helped by anyone in the murders and also understand the role of his wife Nupur Talwar and colleague Dr Anita Durani, with whom Talwar is said to have had extra marital relations. Talwar’s brother Dinesh said, “Noida Police took Rajesh from Dasna Jail and we were not aware where he was taken. They didn’t inform his lawyers.” Talwar’s lawyer Shashi Tripathi said that the court had allowed an advocate to accompany the doctor at a safe distance during the interrogation.

“We have come to know he is being harassed and Noida Police is using third degree torture which is prohibited. We have asked the court to end the remand and initiate contempt action against police,” said Tripathi.
