The overnight pair of Pankaj Dharmani and Gaurav Gambhir added 50 runs, but Gambhir’s dismissal triggered a collapse. But Dharmani stood firm, scoring 56, his second half-century of the match.
The TN spinners looked impressive, with offie R. Ashwin picking up five wickets. Bowling a near-perfect line, Ashwin bothered the batsmen with his turners. Left-arm spinner Aushik Srinivas claimed three, while Suresh Kumar scalped two.
Punjab would love to forget this outing as they under performed in every department.
