A trade unionist to the core, Mohammad Taslimuddin joined active politics in 1957 through the Congress party. Taslimuddin was a Minister of State for Home Affairs in the United Front government led by Devegowda for two months.
He has also authored three books and led the literacy movement for the spread of education in the villages of Purnea district in Bihar.
