Simply put, the next time Michael Schumacher takes off in his Fiat Ferrari Formula-1 car, Tata Consultancy Services' software, too, would be hitching a ride with the former world champion.

An elated TCS CEO, S Ramadorai, chose the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum at the Swiss Alpine resort Davos to showcase his company's new initiative with Ferrari.

TCS has engaged 30 of its top-notch software professionals for Ferrari, whose job will not only be providing software solution but also carrying out thorough research and development to ensure optimum outputs.

Delegates from all over the world had a glance at Schumacher's swanky red Ferrari powered by TCS as it was put on display at a posh restaurant at the city's main road Davos Platz.

Apart from TCS software solution, Schumacher's Ferrari is powered by Shell's fuel, Vodafone's communication system, Bridgestone's tyres and AMD's hardware.

The technology tie with Ferrari is just the beginning, as TCS is all poised to foray into auto engineering solutions in a big way, sources said.
