Telephone unions stage dharna

MEMBERS OF different unions at the Telephone Exchange, Mall Road, organised a dharna against Teleworkers’ Credit Co-operative Society Limited for not distributing bonus and other benefits to its members for the last four years.

The leaders alleged that recent audit report had found many financial irregularities committed by officials of the society and they alleged that no action was initiated against the guilty.

Leaders demanded action against guilty employees at the earliest. They also blamed officials of the society for trying to foil their dharna against corrupt officials. However, on the basis of their complaint, the general manager (Telephones) had asked the assistant register co- operative to take necessary action about the alleged irregularities in the society.

Jal Sansthan staff stage dharna
THE JAL Sansthan employees staged a demonstration under the banner of Jal Sansthan Teknini Karamchari Sangh in protest against their long pending demands here on Friday.

They also gheraoed Jal Sansthan secretary RB Singh. The employees demanded payment for the extra work done by them on holidays, before Holi, a separate office for the Sangh and payment for daily wage workers.

The organisation president Rakesh Vajpayee raised the demand for distribution of winter dresses for class IV employees of Jal Sansthan.

A demand for the merger of 50 per cent of the DA with basic salary of daily wage workers was also made by by him.

Later Jal Sansthan secretary RB Singh was gheraoed the agitating employees and a memorandum was handed over to him. The employees decided to gherao the Sansthan general manager if their demands were not met before Holi.
