Haryana Roadways has decided to insure all its contractual drivers, conductors, daily wages staff and adhoc staff against accident.

Stating that all such employees working in all depots of Haryana Roadways would be covered under this scheme, Arun Kumar, director general, transport department, said on Saturday in a release that in the event of death, the insurance cover would provide Rs 5 lakh, while on loss of two limbs or one limb and one eye, it would give Rs 5 lakh.
However, on loss of one limb or one eye, it would provide Rs 2.50 lakh and on permanent total disablement Rs 5 lakh.
Kumar said the scheme would cover all other employees except those who were regular and getting the benefit of various financial assistance schemes of the state government. Directions in this regard had been issued to all general managers of Haryana Roadways to take immediate action, he added.
