Some JDS activists, infuriated by denial of tickets to one of their leaders, pelted stones at the party office and damaged window panes.

Police rushed to the spot, took ten of them into custody and later released them on bail, police said.

Several history-sheeters in the city had been paraded at the police station and other warned as a preventive measure to curb any violence in the city during polling on May 10, police said.
