Terrorist killed in J&K encounter

The police have recovered an AK-47 assault rifle, and a huge quantity of ammunition.

A terrorist was killed by the Jammu and Kashmir police early on Tuesday in a fierce encounter in Doda district.

According to reports, police raided a suspected hideout of terrorists in Barnalla village of the district, around 200 km north of Jammu.

One terrorist, whose identity is yet to be established, was killed. The police have recovered an AK-47 assault rifle, and a huge quantity of ammunition.

Other terrorists moved out of their hideout and are involved in the fierce ongoing gunfight in the maize crop fields.

It is not immediately known as to how many terrorists are involved in the gun battle.

Doda district is a hub of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizb-ul-Mujahadeen terrorist outfits.
