Terrorists shot at and injured son of the Station House officer of Police Station Nowhatta, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, at Kanjikulla village in Kulgam district, a police spokesman said on Sunday.

A contractor by profession, Rahul was hit by a bullet in his thigh and was shifted to bone and joints hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment, he said.

In a separate incident, terrorists reportedly abducted a former Hizbul Mujahideen member Tanveer Ahmad from his house at Yachgoz-Keller in Pulwama district on Saturday, the spokesman said.

In another incident, he said troops of 13 Rashtriya Rifles arrested an OGW of Hizbul Mujahideen Abdul Majid Nazar following recovery of a hand grenade and 27 rounds of ammunition from his house at Shahgund in Bandipora district.

An LeT OGW Zahoor Ahmad Wani was also arrested by the Rashtriya Rifles from Lalpura village of Kupwara district, he added.

In another operation, troops of 24 Rashtriya Rifles busted a hideout in Kawantar near Kangan area of Ganderbal district and recovered three under barrel grenade launchers, five AK magazines, nine hand grenades, 452 rounds of AK ammunition, one RPG round, one binocular and three 52mm mortar bombs, he said.
