Terrorists ambush CRPF patrol in J&K

The convoy came under attack at around 09.45 am when terrorists opened fire in Awantipora.

At least two security personnel were injured when terrorists ambushed a Jammu-bound Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy at Awantipora in Pulwama district, about 30 kilometres from the state capital, on Wednesday morning, official sources said.

The convoy of the CRPF came under attack at around 0945 hours when terrorists opened heavy fire on it in Awantipora on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway causing injuries to two jawans.

The sources said CRPF personnel fired back, the exchange of fire lasting about half an hour. The whole area was cordoned off, the sources said.
