Speaking at the one-day seminar on ‘Technical advancements’ at the Government Central Textile Institute (GCTI) here on Monday, Prasad said engineers and manufacturers should pay more attention to ensuring economy in production cost, protection to ecological balance and promoting efficiency to compete in the world market. He said these could be summarized as the 3 ‘E’s—Economy, Ecology and Efficiency!

He said methods of economical and effective bleaching of cloth to make it more attractive, durable and useful were vital as traditional methods of bleaching did not match global standards of quality.

Dwelling upon on the swift processing technique for dyeing cloth, Prasad said this saved water required in traditional methods employed for the process. He also discussed the use of nano-technology in the cloth production.

A large number of students of the Institute attended the seminar.
