Thank God I tried!

I’m standing on the edge of a cliff and I think I’m ready to jump… to take that leap of faith… without fear of the consequences or the outcome. Having made the decision, I’m suddenly feeling very free… very unburdened! And in a certain sense, it makes me feel that I am the master of my own destiny!
You may ask, what brought this on me. Well, there isn’t any one particular ‘oh-my-god’ moment or incident that suddenly opened my eyes. It just dawned on me quite recently, that most of us live our lives in fear… of the unknown, unwilling to take a risk because we can’t guarantee the outcome! It’s our constant companion through life, affecting almost every thought we have and every decision we make. There was just a slow realisation of the fact that because of this fear, we could be missing on some of the best moments in our lives because this very fear affects all aspects of our lives… from falling in love to choosing a career and everything in between and beyond!
Don’t get me wrong… I’m no Wonder Woman or Fearless Nadia trying to prophesise. I’m just someone who wants to look back on my life, knowing that at least I tried… that I went after the things that mattered and that I made an honest effort to make something happen, irrespective of the outcome! I want to be amongst those rare breed of people who took a risk in life! This is not a new thought… it’s more like an individual awakening. I’ll leave you with excerpts of a wonderful song called, I hope you dance!
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance… Never settle for the path of least resistance Livin’ might mean takin’ chances, but they’re worth takin’… Lovin’ might be a mistake but it’s worth makin’
Don’t let some hellbent heart leave you bitter… When you come close to selling out, reconsider Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance… And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance… I hope you dance! I really hope you do! XOXO
