Thefts on rise, house and 4 shops burgled

AFTER DACOITY, incidents of theft and burglary seem to be on the rise giving the police and residents sleepless nights. Incidents of theft, one in a house and others in four shops of a locality occurred yesterday.

AFTER DACOITY, incidents of theft and burglary seem to be on the rise giving the police and residents sleepless nights. Incidents of theft, one in a house and others in four shops of a locality occurred yesterday.

According to Sanyogitaganj police thieves struck at the house of Mohammed Idris at 661 Madina Nagar, while he was away with his family to offer condolence on the death of his father-in-law.

The thieves decamped with a gas cylinder, stove and goods worth Rs 28,000. Another incident of theft occurred at the house of Chunnilal Joshi at 60, Shankarbagh Colony.

The thieves broke open the backyard door and decamped with ornaments and other items worth Rs 45,000.

In other incidents, four shops of numbers 43, 44, 49 and 50 located on the Malwa Mill Road, Patnipura were burgled. According to Pardeshipura police, thieves entered after breaking the lock on the shutter.

The thieves decamped with Rs 3,000 in cash and grocery items from the Fair Price Shop of Satish Patodi. Rs 40,000 in cash and a carton full of shaving kits were stolen from the shop of Balaji Traders.
