They just want freedom, nothing else

They are not asking for more. Just give them wings and they would fly. Freedom is what today's youth is aspiring for without any qualms about their attitude.

But their race towards accomplishment is hindered by multiple problems which they are facing at the moment. Many feel that nothing has changed on Youth Day except a few things that have made the smooth sailing tough.

Abhishek, a student of Commerce feels that too much of competition is the biggest drawback which is creating all the problems. "Reservation is another pain in the neck we are suffering from. Government is paying least attention to the issue of unemployment," he said.

Mudit, another student of Allahabad University gave priority to the issue of competition. "The cut-throat competition should not be taken lightly. Those unable to pay for the hefty amount as fees for better education often lose the race," he added.

Saffruddin too felt that the cost of education has crossed its limit.
But few also feel that when the 'going gets tough, then the tough gets going'.

Ankit Jain, the 22-year-old prizes his independence above all else.

The lad is teaching in a reputed school, pursuing a degree course in computer and runs his own business. "Nothing is impossible. It's my call to buddies that work hard, however, tough the situation," he said. He believes in saving rather than overspending and having the guts to face the challenges. Mridu too believes in hard work to get through the major problems.

Ask them about their reaction when they are judged as those interested in loitering. "We keep hearing such remarks from our parents. They are wrong as we are neck deep into troubles and the fun loving attitude is most often the best way to keep the tension at bay," said Dileep Sahu, a student.

Population explosion is the major cause of all the problems pertaining to youths, felt Priyanka Agrawal, an AU student.

"We don't like any interference from the parents in our lives. Their occasional pestering about our whereabouts sometimes crosses the limit which we are unable to tolerate," said Sandeep Dwivedi, an AU student. Dileep Sahu too agreed with Sandeep on the issue.

And oops! for few of them, the non-presence of girlfriends in their lives troubled them.

Whatever might be the problems, the young generation has started giving much importance to their career instead of wasting their time and energy on matters of caste and class, said Akash.
