Three criminals killed in Rajasthan encounter

Three criminals, including one wanted in 25 cases of murder and abduction, were killed in an encounter at Jurhera in Bharatpur.

Three criminals, including one wanted in 25 cases of murder and abduction, were killed in an encounter at Jurhera in Bharatpur district in the wee hours on Sunday, a senior police official said.

On specific information that they were hiding in a house at Jurhera, a police raided the premises and in the ensuing encounter the trio, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, were shot dead, Superintendent of Police Anand Srivastava said.

They were identified as Jagdish, Raeez and Khuria.

Jagdish, wanted in atleast 25 cases including murder and abduction, gave a slip to police one and half months ago while he was taken back to Mathura jail after a court hearing in Alwar in Rajasthan, Srivastava said.

He, along with 15 other criminals, pulled the chain of the train and after a brief encounter they managed to escape.

Jagdish was joined by his two accomplice later and they were hiding in a house in Jurhera, he said.

One AK-47 rifle and some ammunition were recovered from them, Srivastava said.
