Three die after eating contaminated food

THREE PERSONS have died and over a dozen others have fallen ill after consuming contaminated food and water in Tuarkhera village under Pati development block in Barwani district on Thursday.

THREE PERSONS have died and over a dozen others have fallen ill after consuming contaminated food and water in Tuarkhera village under Pati development block in Barwani district on Thursday. According to police, Prem (18), Unkaria (35) and Gopal (30) in Tuarkhera village complained of vomiting and diarrhea and later all the three died. Unkaria belonged to Khirki village of Maharashtra.

Collector, Arun Tiwari after visiting the village said on preliminary information the deceased and affected persons were suspected to have consumed contaminated food and water. The actual reasons behind the death will be known after the post mortem report was made available, he added. He added that three persons were admitted in Barwani hospital and five in Dhar hospital and all were stated to be out of danger.

Over 20 others, who complained of vomiting and diarrhea were treated in village, he added. He said chief medical and health officer along with a team of doctors was camping in the village.

Water resources in the village are being cleaned and people were advised to eat fresh and clean food, he added.
