Don’t worry! Just take your bicycle to the master innovator and get it a healthy upgradation.
CM Sen knows how to make good-old bi-cycle rider-friendly. His high-tech-touch is golden. He’s in his late sixties and is still remembered for his anti-pollution gadgetry in the Scooters’ India Ltd.
But, what has this auto-expert to offer for a bicycle? This is novel device TSS (Telescopic Seat Suspension). The facility which can make pedaling a stress-free wonder. “The TSS not only gives you a riding comfort, but also increases the life of cycles and rickshaw pullers. This gadget can be fixed to any cycle or rickshaw.
Sen says the TSS is the result of two-year’s hard work. “It involved a lot of R&D effort to make it design-compatible. It can be fitted into any bicycle of rickshaw.” The device is priced at Rs 700 for old cycle and Rs 400 for the new one. Where as for the rickshaw, it is slightly higher, Rs 1500 for old one and Rs 1000 for the new one.
The device has been quite successful on the test run. People have admired the quality ride due to it.
The gadget includes dismantled seat assembly with telescopic mechanism, ball-bearing for smooth-sliding of the vehicle. On rickshaws, a footstep is also attached for the handicapped or senior citizens to make vehicles easy moving.
“To start with we propose to market these primarily by way of retrofitting (application on units presently running on roads). The objective is that the existing users are catered first. Sen has also got positive response from authorities like Nagar Nigam, Lucknow Cycle Merchant Association etc. The cycle merchants have also assured Sen that they will try to convince the buyers to get his gadget attached to their vehicles for a quality ride.
The new model is expected to get fairly good response from school-going children and under-nourished as it will help in removing stressful and hazardous driving.
To popularise the product among the masses, marketing strategies like catching hold of the manufacturer and distributors of cycles and rickshaws are approached by Sen and his core team workers, who are ready with the gadget at their Kanpur road workshop.
