Cooks turned jugglers, inspired recipes with a vaguely Oriental sensibility, interactive teppanyaki grill counters - it's not hard to figure out why TK's has spawned a procession of wannabes who haven't come anywhere near the original. You have the option of choosing from the day's set menu (which comes along with soup and appetizers) or go a la carte. For vegetarians, the choice extends from mushrooms and tofu to bell peppers and zucchini; non-vegetarians have a field day with lobster, prawns, fish, mutton and chicken.
The 20-odd sauces, including hot garlic, hoisin and oyster, as well as Thai green, red and yellow curry pastes give you a lot of options to juggle with. For a change of taste, you can check out the sushi bar, which deserves more visibility than it gets. Another popular feature is the TK's Sunday brunch (there's a fixed course buffet, so you'll miss the jugglery) and drink unlimited Frexinet, a Spanish sparkling wine, at Rs 950 plus taxes per head. The place gets so crowded on Sundays that no reservations are allowed after 1 p.m.
