Speaker R Avudaiyappan adjourned the House after reading out a condolence message for the two besides other former MLAs who died during the inter-session period.

DMK MLAs Jayaraman and Periannan died last year, prompting by-polls to Vandavasi and Pennagaram, respectively.

This year's first session of the state Assembly, which started yesterday with the customary Governor's address, will be a short one, scheduled till January 11.
